I Want My Country Back

We need politicians that still work for the people and not for themselves or corporations; politicians who will protect our constitution and rights. We need the media to report all of the news, not just the part that fits the scenario that our government wants us to believe! Our government is supposed to carry out the American people's wishes not their own agenda. We have billions of dollars to give to rebuild foreign nations; but not enough money to help our own areas devastated by natural disaster, Hurricane Katrina for example. Our government has the cash to help out other nations financially but not its American people.

Government wants to give illegal aliens social security. The same social security that we have paid into for so many years of our lives just to find out that they are spending any way they see fit. Our upper echelon of government doesn't care how things affect us (the little guy) as long as it puts more money and power at their control.

Our Supreme Court needs to get back on track of upholding the laws of the American public and stop bowing down to the almighty dollar. If I am not mistaken there is an oath somewhere in there that all of our officials vow and swear to. Our voting system needs to reflect the wishes of the people not the Electoral College.

We need a regular guy in office of the president that has no corporate affiliations and cares about America's people. The only problem with that is a regular person does not have the resources to run for office. There are still honest people here in our country. If there was a man on the street that did or does what some of our politicians do he would go to jail. How is it that with wealth you can avoid prosecution?

It seems that the war on terror is also a war on the American people. Our government wants us to trust them; don't they know that they have to earn that trust. The patriot act - is that a prelude to Martial Law? I am seeing government death squads more and more as terrorism is the excuse. We are seeing a dictatorship. We do not need our government to create terrorism to bring us together; we need our government to do what the honest hardworking, taxpaying American citizen wants.

We need to get back to basics. Take care of our sick and elderly. Take care of our borders. Take care of dishonesty in government. Take care of America in general not just a few individual needs or wants no matter who the hell it is. We need to stop idolizing people and letting them break laws that you or I could not. Evolution or revolution, America needs to wake up and take back our country!
